A Seminar of ‘WTO and Appellate Body’ was jointly hosted by Shanghai WTO Law Research Society and Law School of Fudan University on September 13^th 2018 at Jiangwan campus. Mr. Kaarlo Castren, the senior counselor of the WTO Dispute Resolution Appellate Body Secretariat was invited to address on the issues of the operation of the WTO dispute settlement mechanism, the severe challenges WTO DSM is facing and the disputes between European Communities and the United States on Measures Affecting Trade in large Civil Aircraft dealt with by the WTO Appellate Body.

Professor ZHANG Naigen presided over the seminar and professor CHEN Li, the vice dean of Fudan Law School, together with some other professors, Ph.D students and postgraduate students of International Law major had a heated academic discussion with Mr. Kaarlo Castren on the related issues in the seminar.
